The Lab

Explore the frequencies.

Move the carrier tone and the binaural beat. Notice what happens in your body over 30–60 seconds. Headphones required — the effect only exists in stereo.

Current band

Alpha

10.0 Hz beat · 210 Hz carrier

10.00 Hz

The difference between the two ears. This is what your brain entrains to as a pulse.

Higher = faster pulse, more alert, Beta/Gamma territory.

Lower = slower pulse, deeper rest, Delta/Theta territory.

210 Hz

The base pitch both ears share. It does NOT change the brainwave band — Beta stays Beta whether the carrier is 96 Hz or 528 Hz. What it changes is texture, body-location, and emotional weight.

Higher = brighter, airier, sits in the head and throat.

Lower = bassier, denser, sits in the chest and belly.

0.35

How loud the tone is. Binaural effects work at low volumes; comfort is what matters.

Louder = more present and immersive.

Softer = gentler, easier to layer with breath or voice.

What you are hearing: the Alpha preset band at 10.0 Hz, carried by a 210 Hz (Balanced) tone. The two ears receive 205.00 Hz and 215.00 Hz; your brain perceives the difference as the pulse.

How to listen: Start with a preset, then slowly move one slider at a time. Notice the felt shift in your body after 30–60 seconds. The binaural beat pulls your brain state; the carrier tone sets the texture; the volume only sets presence. Keep the volume low enough that you can still sense your own breath.

Carrier slider moves the center tone up or down the full spectrum. It changes where the sound is felt in the body (chest, throat, crown) — it does not change the brainwave band.

Binaural beat slider sets the distance between the two ear tones in the magnified view. Your brain perceives that difference as the pulse, which is what nudges your brain state into Delta, Theta, Alpha, Beta, or Gamma.

Download a stereo MP3 to your device. Use it anywhere — phone, tablet, or computer — with headphones.

Layer with the body: Binaural beats work best when paired with breath, touch, or movement. Try the Somatic Toolkit alongside a track: orienting to settle the room, grounding through the feet, or the VOO tone to deepen the downshift.

Preset bands

Tap one to jump the beat into that band — your current carrier tone stays put. Combine any band below with any carrier state further down, or nudge either slider above to fine-tune.

Carrier tone states

The beat frequency decides the band — Delta, Theta, Alpha, Beta, Gamma. The carrier tone decides how that band feels in your body. Same Beta, different room. Tap a state to swap the carrier without leaving the band you're in — it stacks with whichever preset band you picked above, and both sliders remain live for fine-tuning.

Why the carrier slider exists: The same 15 Hz Beta beat feels like a bright fluorescent light at a 528 Hz carrier and like a low room hum at 96 Hz. Sweeping the carrier lets you tune the texture to your nervous system on a given day without leaving the band you came for.

What each frequency tends to do

0.5 – 4 HzDeltaSleep induction, deep rest, grief.
4 – 8 HzThetaMeditation, imagery, memory, hypnagogia.
8 – 12 HzAlphaRelaxed alertness, flow, eyes-closed calm.
12 – 30 HzBetaFocus, decision-making. Short doses.
30 – 45 HzGammaPeak awareness, compassion practices.

Binaural beats are a nudge, not a prescription. Effects are subtle, most reliable with headphones, and stronger paired with breath and posture.
