The Book · Three Currents

Purpose. Mindset.
Humanitarian.

Meditations of a Global Citizen by Jordyn Hawkins-Rippie is organized around three reflective themes — live more purposefully, shift your thinking, and unleash your inner humanitarian. This app is the somatic companion to that book: each theme mapped to sound, breath, and ink through the Mindful Integration Framework.

  1. 01

    Clarity · Beta → Gamma

    Live more purposefully.

    Finding Your Purpose

Purpose is not a slogan you find and hang on a wall. It is a signal the nervous system can only hear when the static drops. This theme uses engineered focus — Gamma and Beta binaural work — to lock attention long enough for the real question to surface.

    Applied Neuroscience

Targeted Beta and Gamma binaural frequencies sustain concentration; clinical studies show binaural protocols can increase sustained attention span by up to 15%. Deep focus is the ground purpose grows from.

    Somatic Grounding

Sit tall. Feet flat. One clean 4-in / 4-out breath cycle for a full minute before you write. Purpose speaks in a quieter voice than anxiety — you have to lower the room first.

    Deep Journaling

    • If the noise dropped tomorrow, what work would still feel worth doing?
    • Where is my energy already voting — despite what my calendar says?
    • What am I ready to stop deliberating about?

    Morning

Purpose is heard best in the first quiet hour, before inputs stack.

    Sound
Beta lift at 210 Hz with a 14 Hz beat — alert, not activated.
    Breath
4-in / 4-out for one full minute before you write a word.
    Vision
See yourself six months out doing the work that already feels true. Hold the image steady for three breaths.
    Ink
One sentence: the work that would still feel worth doing if no one ever saw it.
  2. 02

    Rewire · Alpha → Theta

    Shift your thinking.

    Shifting Your Mindset

A mindset is a groove the brain has worn into itself. Shifting it is not willpower — it is neuroplasticity, and neuroplasticity requires the nervous system to feel safe first. This theme moves the body from sympathetic overdrive into parasympathetic regulation so new grooves can actually form.

    Applied Neuroscience

Controlled breathing has been shown clinically to reduce salivary cortisol by up to 20% and stabilize heart rate variability within five minutes. Alpha and Theta states are where old patterns loosen and new ones lay down.

    Somatic Grounding

Physiological sigh: two short inhales stacked, one long exhale through the mouth. Three cycles. The story you tell yourself about the day changes on the exhale, not the inhale.

    Deep Journaling

    • What sentence do I keep repeating about myself that I have never actually verified?
    • If I met this thought as a stranger, would I trust it?
    • What would I do next if the fear were data, not a verdict?

    Midday

    Open ritual →

Interrupt the loop while the day is still bendable.

    Sound
Theta reset at 174 Hz with a 6 Hz beat — down-shift without drowsiness.
    Breath
Physiological sigh, 8 rounds — the exhale is where the story softens.
    Vision
See the recurring thought as a stone. Drop it into a cool lake. Watch it sink.
    Ink
Write the sentence you keep repeating about yourself — then one line of evidence against it.

    18:00 – 21:00

    Evening

New grooves lay down when the body has already been metabolized.

    Sound
Schumann blend at 136.1 Hz with a 7.83 Hz beat — Alpha to Theta.
    Breath
    Box breath, 4-4-4-4, five minutes.
    Vision
You are the harbor. Today's thoughts are the boats. Let them dock; do not board.
    Ink
One belief I am ready to loosen — and the smaller belief I would replace it with.
  3. 03

    Openness · Alpha, wide field

    Unleash your inner humanitarian.

    Unleashing Your Inner Humanitarian

A regulated nervous system is a generous one. When the body is not defending itself, attention naturally widens toward other people. This theme opens the chest and the horizon so care can move outward — not as performance, but as overflow.

    Applied Neuroscience

Interoception (the felt sense of your own body) is the neural precursor to empathy. Widening the breath widens the field of concern. Studies on expressive writing show working memory improvements of 11-14% — clarity that frees bandwidth for others.

    Somatic Grounding

Palms face-up on the thighs. Collarbones wide. Six-second inhale, eight-second exhale. Notice the space in the chest — that is the space available for another person today.

    Deep Journaling

    • Who am I ready to be a quieter, more useful presence for?
    • Where has my care been performative — and where has it been real?
    • If I gave five percent more of my attention to the world this week, where would it go?

Care flows outward once the day has stopped asking for defense.

    Sound
Wide-field Alpha at 136.1 Hz with a 7.83 Hz beat.
    Breath
6-second inhale, 8-second exhale — palms turned up on the thighs.
    Vision
See three people at the edge of your life. Send each one one clean breath.
    Ink
Three lines: who I saw today, who I overlooked, who I want to hold in mind tomorrow.

A generous nervous system is one that has been kept, first.

    Sound
Delta hush at 96 Hz with a 2.5 Hz beat.
    Breath
4-7-8 for four rounds, then let the breath do what it wants.
    Vision
Warm sand, a slow tide. You are being kept — so you can keep others tomorrow.
    Ink
One word for the world tonight. Only one. Close the app.

Engineer focus for Purpose

Put on headphones. Load the Sonoran Clarity session or the Frequency Lab at a Beta carrier. Sit tall, feet flat. Let the beat lock your attention before you ask any question of yourself.

You are lowering the static, not chasing an answer.

The Anchor

We do not just read about focus. We engineer it.

The three themes are the philosophical anchor. The Mindful Integration Framework — applied neuroscience, somatic grounding, and deep journaling — is how the book becomes a nervous system practice. Start with the theme calling loudest, and let the body take the rest.
